The plow has long since made its rounds across the growing field. Effective as the plow is, it couldn't turn every bit of soil. In the spaces it missed, these liminal corners where the crops border other lands, the wild takes root. These places are fairy corners. Wildflowers bloom here unbothered by the bustle of cultivation. Come out and learn about some plant lore. Learn why they’re called fairy corners through a bit of folklore, too. A peaceful place is never far away.

Trade Tuesdays will demonstrate some of the common and not so common skill sets that would be needed on a historic farm. This month's skills include turning wood on the foot pedal lathe, caning chairs and weaving baskets. Join us and explore the creation of unique and practical objects.

Step back in time and experience the simple joy of homemade butter on the farm! Join us for a live butter-churning demonstration where you'll learn the traditional step-by-step process of turning cream into fresh, delicious butter. Guests are invited to take a turn at the churn, help with the process, and discover how this everyday staple was once made by hand. Because butter-making takes time, feel free to explore the farm and return later to sample the finished product. Once the butter is churned, we'll rinse it in cold water, gently salt it, and prepare it for tasting.

This weekend is all about butterflies and insects! Fun butterfly-themed programs and crafts will be happening at the Nature Station all weekend. All activities will be included with general Nature Station admission. Also, naturalists will be conducting a Butterfly Count in collaboration with the North American Butterfly Association on Sunday, June 21nd.
