Eagle Viewing Van Tour

Winter is peak season for bald eagle viewing in Land Between the Lakes! Both our year-round resident eagles and visiting winter "snowbirds" are out looking for fish around the lakes. Join this van tour to discover favorite bays, shorelines, and roosting spots of bald eagles. We'll search for these majestic birds, as they soar through the sky and perch in the trees, and maybe even catch one in action hunting for fish! Our naturalists will help you spot eagles and other wildlife, as well as zoom in with spotting scopes for a closer look. Cost is $20 per person and reservations are required by calling 270-924-2020. Dress for the weather and bring binoculars. Moderate walking may be required.

Join this van tour to discover favorite bays, shorelines, and roosting spots of bald eagles. We'll search for these majestic birds, as they soar through the sky and perch in the trees, and maybe even catch one in action hunting for fish! Battle of Fort Henry

163 years ago, Land Between the Rivers was bracing for war. Confederate forces occupied Fort Henry with federal forces moving up the Tennessee River. Join local historian Ski Witzofsky in the Homeplace theater to learn about Fort Henry, its impact on the Civil War, and its legacy. Later, gather at Fort Henry Trail Parking area for a guided walk and relive the siege.

Presentation is from 1-2pm. The walk is from 2:45-3pm at the Fort Henry Trailhead.
